Testing is mandatory for stallions and mares over 2 years old from CEM-affected countries, requiring a negative CEM test within 30 days prior to shipment to the USA. Additionally, it's advisable to pre-test all horses for EIA, Piroplasmosis, Dourine, and Glanders—the four blood tests required during quarantine in the USA. EquineImports will facilitate all necessary testing as part of our service.

EquineImports facilitates the entire buying journey, making it accessible and straightforward.

What’s the average cost to buy a horse in Europe?

Accordion iconAccordion close icon

While there's no standard cost, we can provide a detailed estimate based on your preferences and requirements. This includes the horse’s price, travel expenses, commissions, import fees, quarantine, and shipping costs. What if I choose the wrong horse?

Accordion iconAccordion close icon

Our commitment is to help you select the right horse, as our reputation depends on your satisfaction. If you are not content with your new horse within the first 30 days, we will assist in reselling the horse commission-free, provided it passed the initial pre-purchase exam and was not purchased against veterinary advice. We also offer support for training issues to help build a successful relationship between you and your horse. Remember, some restrictions apply if the horse did not meet health standards or sustained injuries post-purchase, which is why we recommend insuring your horse.
